Memorandum of Understanding signed between Georgian Universities and Industry

 

 

The Memorandum of Understanding to contribute to the development of Biosciences in Georgia was signed by MAPB project beneficiary Georgian Universities and representatives of various Industries. The ceremony took place during the meeting organized within the framework of MAPB project.

The main purpose  of this event  was to facilitate to the establishment of  strong partnership between Universities and Industry- healthcare, environment,  food and agricultural institutions and companies, scientific-technological centers and clinical diagnostic laboratories; biological analytical services; sanitation safety services, pharmacological and pharmaceutical companies, food processing companies; research and consulting services and other institutions.  

 

The presentation was hosted by the rectors of project beneficiary Georgian Universities:

Mr. Alexander Kvitashvili, TSU, Mr. Lasha Gotsiridze, Georgian State Agrarian University (GSAU) and Mr. Giorgi Gavtadze,  Akaki Tsereteli State University (ATSU). 

The high officials of Ministry of Education and Sciences of Georgia, the  Ambassador,  Head of Delegation of European Union Delegation to Georgia, Head of Tempus National office  In Georgia, representatives of various industries, NGOs, media were attended  the meeting. After the welcome speeches and opening remarks made by rectors and officials, the project progress report was made by Dr. Nino Inasaridze, MAPB project technical coordinator. The concept of partnership was introduced by Dr. Nunuka Mitskevichi, MAPB project partnership coordinator (TSU).

 

By the end of the event the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by University rectors, honorable guests and representatives of Industry.  By signing this MoU the parties agree to contribute to the Development of Applied Biosciences in Georgia by providing the resources, services, and expertise consistent with their respective missions and purposes.
